Happy Hour in Sydney CBD

Kuro Hour runs Thursday to Saturday, 5pm to 6pm. The first hour of evening service rather than a window later on. In Japan the drink after work is its own occasion rather than an afterthought. This is that hour, on Kent Street. Walk in, or book if you want the space held.

A Drink Before Your Next Stop

Happy hour suits the hour between finishing work and whatever is next — a glass and a few plates without committing to dinner. Sit at the bar counter or unwind in the lounge, then kick on.

It also works as a first drink before a dinner reservation, here or elsewhere. If you decide to stay, the full menu runs from the same time. The glass of wine is poured from the list that took Two Glasses in the 2025 Australian Wine List of the Year, built by Tom Subileau, our Co-Head Chef and Sommelier.

Staying On?

Walk-ins are welcome at the bar. The full dinner and bar menus run from the same time, so the hour turns into dinner without moving. Everything is on the menus page.

It also works as the drink before a show. See pre-theatre.

Bringing a group? Book ahead so we can hold the space.
